2011 Calistoga Picnic Ride

Calistoga Ride and Picnic

When: July 30, 2011
Where: Bothe-Napa State Park, Calistoga, California

Three rides to choose from:
Light: 29.1 miles
Humane: 46.1 miles
Intermediate/Advanced: 43 miles

Pot Luck Picnic Sponsored by the OYJ Members

Members bring what is listed by the FIRST initial of your FIRST name

A – M: Side Dish or Salad

N - Z: Main Dish

(Please don't bring store bought potato or macaroni salads.)

Dessert will be provided by the club

Meet at Lake Merritt Fairyland Parking Lot at 6:30am to caravan
Will leave lake promptly at 6:45 am to Calistoga.
Meet at Calistoga Picnic area to start at 8:30.

Members free, Non Members $15.00

All rides start at 8:30.

25th Annual Monterey Ride

The Oakland Yellowjackets Bicycling Club would like to invite our members to join us for our famous season highlight: the annual Monterey Ride. Overnight accommodations and the dinner banquet will be at the Lighthouse Lodge (not at the Asilomar this year).

ROUTES

  • The 120 mile ride starts in Pacifica, ride across Devil's Slide, along the scenic coastline to Santa Cruz where lunch awaits you, continuing on Highway 1 ending in Pacific Grove, where you will be met with cheers and applause as you finish the ride. Sag support will be available if needed.
  • The 87 mile ride starts in scenic Pescadero, ride to Santa Cruz where lunch awaits you, continuing on Highway 1 ending in Pacific Grove. Sag support will be available if needed.
  • LOCATION

    Ride starts from Pacifica at the Pacific Manor Parking Lot at 7:00am prompt. People in need of transportation to Pacifica, meet at Fairyland entrance at Lake Merritt 5:15am. All Pescadero riders will be transported from Pacifica to Pescadero, leaving at 7:00am. Note: There is no overnight parking at the Lake Merritt or Pescadero.

Ride Calendar Adjustment

The Ride Calendar has been changed slightly in Septmeber/October to accommodate our new date for the Monterey ride, which is September 24th. Obviously, that means that the Walnut-Creek/Sunol ride has be moved out as well. Here are the details:

Original Calendar

September 3: Walnut Creek-Sunol (BART)
September 10: Monterey Ride
September 17: Fog City (BART)
September 24: Fairfax (AWAY)
October 1: Calaveras (LAKE)

New Calendar

September 3: Fairfax (AWAY)
September 10: Calaveras (LAKE)
September 17: Walnut Creek-Sunol (BART)
September 24: Monterey Ride
October 1: Fog City (BART)

Please adjust you personal calendars accordingly.
 

3rd Annual San Luis Obispo Ride

3rd Annual San luis Obispo Ride

As many of you already know, our third annual SLO Ride Weekend is scheduled for May 20-22, 2011. The weekend will include a social ride on those arriving on Friday, 40 mile and 60 mile rides on Saturday followed by a lunch ($15.00 per person) at the park and a dinner ($18.00 per person) later Saturday evening, and a breakfast ride on Sunday.

You can view the event flyer on the link below. Quality Suites has blocked a limited number of rooms have been reserved at the club rate. If you plan to attend, you should make your room reservation as soon as possible. Be sure to mention the SLO Ride Weekend.
