New ride in Los Gatos:
The event takes place Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM (PT). There are multiple ride options (and even some walk options, for those inclined to get off the bike). Please see the website for details.Polly and Rob Naber of Los Gatos, California, invite the community to help them honor the memory of their daughter, Jillian Bailey Naber, by participating in the second annual Jill’s Ride for Hope fund-raising event, Saturday August 27, 2011 on the front lawn of Los Gatos High School. Participants can sign up for the event online at www.jillsrideforhope.com.
Funds raised at the event will be used to support the non-profit Counseling and Support Services for Youth agency (CASSY). CASSY's free-of-charge on-site mental health services program at Los Gatos High School provides prevention education and therapeutic counseling to students affected by sexting, cyber-bullying, stress, depression, thoughts of suicide, and other serious mental health crises.
Jill's Ride for Hope participants can choose from a 5K bike ride, run or walk, a 30K ride, or a 100K ride for serious athletes. Jill's Ride for Hope will also feature a BBQ lunch in Los Gatos High School's Memorial Plaza, live entertainment, and prize drawings for gifts provided by local shops and services.
