TEAM OAKLAND is a group of everyday men and women participating in long-distance cycling events that benefit various charities. The team's banner event in 2003 is AIDS/Lifecycle, a 585-mile endurance test that begins in San Francisco on June 8 and ends in Los Angeles 7 days later.
The event's beneficiaries are the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the LA Gay & Lesbian Center, notable leaders in AIDS treatment and prevention programs. Monies raised during this event get put to immediate use for vital AIDS and HIV services. This year, our efforts are all the more crucial as we anticipate deep cuts in local, state and federal government funding to AIDS-related programs.
We invite corporations and individuals to donate to the urgent cause of AIDS/HIV services and prevention. Or, consider joining our team as a cyclist, "roadie" or volunteer. For more information on sponsorship or participation, please contact us.
